Tait Solberg has been a professional musician and instructor for many years, and has, since retirement from the Air Force as a musician, been been giving clarinet, saxophone and flute lessons in his studio in Littleton, Colorado. He has also been \u00a0arranging music, managing recording and producing recordings, and directing ensembles.<\/p>\n

Tait offers saxophone, clarinet and flute lessons individually designed for the student or group\u2019s stated goals and objectives. He welcomes and mentors beginning, intermediate, advanced and adult woodwind students and groups. His students have excelled in school bands, college auditions, amateur and community bands and professional ensembles. He draws on his five decades of professional experience and from his past mentors to craft individual instruction programs for students. Tait teaches from the conceptual point of view according to the individual student\u2019s talents and abilities. He endeavors to present various elements of music in an integrated way through emphasis on fundamentals and competence in basic musicianship. The primary means of teaching fundamentals consists of tone production (embouchure, breathing, reeds and mouthpiece), technique (scales and arpeggios), ear training, rhythm reading (sight reading and rhythmic analysis), harmony (theory and analysis)) & melody (intervals and phrasing).<\/p>\n

He also is fluent in jazz improvisation instruction emphasizing melodic construction, harmony, style analysis, solo transcription and singing. In all his instruction Tait integrates all aspects of music concurrently so that students are able to perform spontaneously.<\/p>\n

Individual Lesson Fees:
